This is probably the most sought-after spider of all. Because of over-collecting from the wild in the past, the Red-knee is fully protected under the 'CITES' regulations and is only available as a captive-bred specimen. It takes at least 5 years for a female to reach breeding size. Rearing the spiderlings is a fiddly process as they all have to be housed and fed in individual containers.
