Filter boxes are a misunderstood accessory. Many people believe that
their purpose is to 'sieve-out the green stuff ' from their ponds.
In fact the boxes contain various media with a large surface area,
such as brushes, open-cell foam, flo-core, alfagrog and Canterbury spa.
Over time the surface of the media becomes covered with millions of
helpful 'nitrifying bacteria'. These micro-organisms eat the waste which
is produced by the fish. |

A pump is the heart of your garden pond. It can be used simply
